Mainstream media outlets have declared that the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s ruling class in Syria has kicked off World War III, according to Forbes. The media outlet is piggybacking off of JPMorgan Chase & Co. CEO Jamie Dimon who said the exact same thing a few weeks ago.
“World War III has already begun. You already have battles on the ground being coordinated in multiple countries,” Dimon told an audience at the International Institute of Finance in late October. “The risk is extraordinary.”
Forbes claimed that Assad’s fall was imminent, and the only reason he lasted so long as the rule was because Russia and Iran were propping him up. However, the war in Ukraine sapped Russia’s strength and diminished its ability to maintain its defense of the Assad regime just as surely as the successful Russian defense of Stalingrad taxed Germany’s military, contributing to its loss of North Africa in 1943. Israel’s defeat of Hezbollah and its attacks on Iran itself made it hard for Tehran to stay in the fight in Syria as well.
Russia Comments On Fate Of Its Military Bases In Syria
While these conflicts may seem distinct at first glance, they share several characteristics that justify viewing them as components of a single, overarching global conflict. These include the involvement of major powers either directly or through proxies, the intertwining of political, economic, and ideological objectives, and the cascading impact of one conflict on others, creating a chain reaction of instability. – Forbes
There are several other conflicts that are threatening to involve the United States and other NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) allies as well. Any of the current conflicts threaten to expand more regionally and involve more countries until they pop off into WW3, but Forbes and Dimon believe that this war has begun.
Dimon postulated that all of these conflicts threaten to impact business in the U.S. Dimon said: “(W)e can’t take the chance this will resolve itself.”
Forbes even admitted that incoming ruler Donald Trump might be able to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but even if he achieves that, the fighting will soon kick up again and be worse than before.
Trump may well force an end to the war in Ukraine, but I expect Russia will use that peace to rebuild and rearm before continuing its effort to redraw the map of Europe. Before long, the fighting will resume, either in Ukraine or somewhere else along NATO’s eastern front. -Forbes
So is the media claiming that World War III hasn’t started yet, and will even if Trump succeeds at ending the Ukrainian conflict? Previously, the article claimed that the Third World War had already begun. So what’s the truth? Who knows.
The best way to move forward is to trust your own discernment and prepare accordingly. All we have is speculation on how any of this will unfold.
