The United Kingdom has confirmed that bird flu has been detected in two humans who work at a poultry farm.  Neither worker has suffered symptoms of infection and both cases were found during screening.

UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said that the cases are believed to be linked to exposure to sick birds on a single poultry farm where the two people were known to have recently worked, according to a report by The Independent.  The UKHSA is running a program of testing workers who deal with birds infected with avian flu but is also running asymptomatic testing.

Never forget what the ruling classes tried to tell the world about those “asymptomatic carriers” not too long ago:

Lockdowns Were a SCAM! Asymptomatic Carriers Don’t Spread COVID-19

Further investigation is under way but precautionary contact tracing has been undertaken for this person, the UKHSA said.

Both people are now testing negative, the UKHSA said, adding there is no evidence of person-to-person transmission.

The H5N1 virus is the most prevalent strain in circulation at the moment. Symptoms are similar to that of any influenza virus.

The UKHSA said people with the highest risk are those with exposure to infected birds. The UKHSA health protection teams contact them daily to monitor for the development of any symptoms.

The “dog flu” has also been getting media attention lately.

Canine influenza continues to spread in the community more than a month since the first signs of the virus closed multiple Humane Society locations, according to a report by CBS News.  As of Friday, at least 20 community cases have been confirmed in Anoka, Carver, and Hennepin counties, though the state’s board of animal health says it likely underrepresents how many dogs are truly sick.
