Many of you are getting going on your New Year’s resolutions as we speak. In fact, I suspect one or two of you just got in from a jog and ran over to the PC to see if SHTF Plan has been updated with any new stories while you were out. You’re in luck, as one of our favorite contributors and writers, Tom of the North, has just published New Year’s Resolutions from the Nation’s Capitol.
Tom has assembled a host of different New Year’s resolutions from some of our most well known politicians and department heads. We’ll list a couple below, but we ask that you resolve to click this link and head over to Tom’s web site for the full list.
Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke – “This may seem kind of a silly resolution but I plan on wearing brighter neck ties. All of this doom & gloom is so overdone. As the foremost expert on Economic Depression I can assure you we’re fine. I think now is a great time to stock-up on snazzy ties, what with all of the year-end sales underway. And of course the price of ties will likely be going up as we reestablish a positively sloped Consumer Price Index AND aggressively debase the currency to nearly zero. Charge it now, I say….haha!â€
Senator Mitch McConnell – “This year I will work tirelessly to allow those Americans concerned for the welfare & direction of our Country to be able to once again provide their financial support to the McConnell  Center for Political Leadership at the University of Kentucky in complete and total anonymity. Frankly the disclosure requirement has been detrimental to the shaping of our future leadership and needs to be abolished. So effective immediately, anyone who wants to support putting our country back on the right path should send CASH to my office on Capitol Hill. That’s McConnell, M-C-C-O-N-N-E-L-L. And remember, CASH….don’t send checks. Money orders are ok though.â€

Also, since we’re all in the mood for making resolutions, and I don’t want you to miss any SHTF developments in 2010, resolve to check SHTF Plan everyday. If that means adding a bookmark to this web site in your iPhone (which displays very nicely, BTW) or Kashkari Blackberry, then get it done. There is no sense in putting it off until tomorrow — you’re phone is probably sitting next to you or is in your pocket right now, so Get ‘Er Done!
Happy New Year all, and good luck with your resolutions this year.
