As protests against the recent Ahmadinejad victiory in Iran continue, Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami says some in Iran unrest `worthy of execution’.
“Anyone who takes up arms to fight with the people, they are worthy of execution,” he said. “We ask that the judiciary confront the leaders of the protests, leaders of the violations, and those who are supported by the United States and Israel strongly, and without mercy to provide a lesson for all.”
Khatami said those who disturbed the peace and destroyed public property were “at war with God,” and said they should be “dealt with without mercy.”
Iranians, and society in the Middle East, have a different rule of law than that of the laws of Western powers. This different frame of mind when dealing with Iran on issues of nuclear power and armament must be considered, especially considering Iran’s calls for the destruction of Israel. Whether Iran is preemptively attacked, or we wait for Iran to make the bomb and use it against Western Allies, Gerald Celente’s forecast that World War III can be sparked in this part of the world should be closely monitored.
